Hi. I am an amateur birder and photographer. Our community has a wonderful diversity of birds. Since early March, I have recorded 78 species of birds and have taken many photos. I have uploaded my checklists and photos to a public site called eBird.org. It is run by the Cornell Ornithology Lab. (There is a mobile app available.)

My checklists and photos can be viewed here: https://ebird.org/hotspot/L8071798?yr=all&m=

If you click on the photo icon you can see my most recent pictures. If you click on the “Illustrated Checklist” tab you can scroll through all of my pictures. See sample extract of web page attached. I hope you enjoy. I invite fellow like minded residents to upload their checklists. Please let me know if you have any questions. Kind Regards,

I’ve recently seen on TV news stories about communities where the residents are placing Teddy bears/stuffed animals in their windows to provide objects for scavenger hunts. Here’s a news item from Tampa:

I think that this is something that we could do here. Check on Torcello Ct!!

Looking for something new and different to do? Try a Polo Match.
There are fun Polo matches to attend right here in Sarasota County in the Fall through the Spring.

Just like tailgating at a football game (well, the clothing and Pimm’s Cups may be a step up), your group enjoys refreshments at your car, which is driven right up to the field of play. Watch the galloping horses rush by you just feet away, see the strong athletes smashing the polo ball with their mallets. It’s a different and exciting way to spend an afternoon with friends. Located at Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota Polo can be reached at (941) 907‑0000. Website is sarasotapolo.com.
